Autism Plus Ltd.
Autism Plus was founded 25 years ago by a group of parents of adult children, all diagnosed with an autism spectrum condition. After reaching school leaving age they found there was no service to support their children through adulthood. We are delighted to launch a new support group in Kirklees for adults with autism and Asperger syndrome.
We hold regular social meetings to enable individuals to meet others in safe supportive environment.

Our over 55s meet on a weekly basis at St Paulinus Parochial Hall, West Street. .It gives members the opportunity to socialise and feel less isolated.

The off outs (Thornhill)
We aim to provide outdoor activities for over 55's but any age is welcome. We have organised health walks. We meet outside the club at 1pm every 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month. Each walk approximately 2 hours. Walking boots advised. Linked to Kirklees health walks. Health walk plus. We hope to offer new activities in the New Year such as cycling, you don't need a bike just turn up. Also Nordic Walking if enough people are interested. Watch this space.

The Priory Hospital Dewsbury
The Priory Hospital Dewsbury is a 32 bedded locked service and has easy access from major motorway and transport links. The hospital has two wards: Hartley and Jubilee Ward, which focus upon active rehabilitation and recovery of adult males.
Thornhill Cricket and Bowling Club

Thornhill Lees Community Centre
Local centre that aims to meet the needs of the local community. The centre staff offer a warm, welcoming and safe environment for everyone from babies to the over 50s and provide a range of activities. The Centre can be booked for training courses, conferences, meetings and other events at reasonable costs.

Meet on Mondays and Wednesdays 2pm to 4pm. Social club for older people. Mainly bingo, but also guest speakers, trips to the coast etc. Also a week's holiday a year, and events at Christmas. Covers Thornhill, Thornhill Lees and Batley areas.

The Centre is open for all the community in the Kirklees area. Mondays Over 50s bingo club meet at 2pm New members welcome. Thornhill Senior Citizens
Club for older people. Activities include coffee mornings every Thursday 10am to 11.30am, and luncheon club every Tuesday at 12noon. Also, bingo on Thursday 6.30pm.

As well has being home to Thornhill Trojans ARLFC the Centre has: Yoga on Mondays 1pm to 3pm. Senior Youth club for aged 14 to18 on Mondays 6pm to 9pm. Youth club for juniors on Thursday 4.30pm to 6pm. Rugby training for under 7s, 8s, 9s and 10s, as well as Under 18s and Open Age. Contact centre for training nights. Thornhill Tennis Club
Three all weather courts. Floodlights. Lawn Tennis Association coach available. Mens, ladies and mixed teams in Huddersfield and Wakefield Leagues. Social tennis played on Saturday afternoons and Sunday mornings. Junior coaching on Saturday mornings. Membership only, but courts may be hired out for a small fee by non members . Thornhill United F. C. (youth teams)
Thornhill United F.C. is based in Rectory Park, Thornhill, Dewsbury and supports young people from the age of 6 to 18 years. Our main aim is supporting young people with active minds, promoting community cohesion, and linking with other local clubs to provide as many outdoor activities as possible. Our main priority is football but we also promote other sport including Paint-balling, Tug O War etc. Through our dedicated hard working team of volunteers helping to raise funds, we are proud to be able to offer free subscriptions to all our players. All our Managers, Coaches and helpers are C R B checked, and as an expanding club we are always looking for new helpers, Managers/Coaches with a chance to go on level 1 and 2 courses paid for by the club.

Women First (Ravensthorpe)
A self-help group for women with minor mental health issues. We provide activities to enhance mental and physical well-being.
The group meets in Ravensthorpe, but covers Kirklees.
